Thursday, February 3rd game previews

Two games are on tonight to kick off the second half.

Norfolk Admirals (24-14-10) at Charlotte Checkers (26-18-5)

Norfolk comes in just one point ahead of Charlotte as the two battle to determine 3rd in the East Division. Both have won 5 games in their past 10, but Norfolk’s last  5 games come in at 0-4-1. They look to turn it around in Charlotte. The Checkers are only mediocre at home at 11-10-4.

Peoria Rivermen (28-17-3) at Oklahoma City Barons (26-17-7)

Peoria and Oklahoma City come in as the fourth and fifth teams, respectively, in the very tight West division. Both are even at 59 points, with Texas right behind at 58. Two points here would push either team atop the West division by one point, and even an OTL or SOL would put them in a 4-way tie for second. First sounds a lot better than second, so this game should be a good one.

Still off

The second half of the season doesn’t begin until tomorrow, so brush up on what you missed during the all-star game.

T-Bone stole the show, ramming into the boards at full speed, and then doing the worm at the end. Well done.

Oh, and the East won over the West11-8, with Binghamton’s Bobby Butler named the MVP with a goal and 3 assists!
